Walking
Short Walking
Whistler Village with shops, groceries, restaurants, coffee and museums is across the street. The Olympic Plaza with a children's playground and seasonal outdoor ice skating is a 3 minute walk across Lorimer Road. For a unique Whistler bakery treat, look for Purebread which is in the Olympic Plaza. Stroll towards the south village by crossing a foot bridge over Village Gate Road. You can walk to the base of the ski lifts in about 10 minutes.
Longer Walking and Cycling
Right in front of Glaciers Reach is the Valley Trail.
We suggest you download the Whistler Valley Trail map for more detailed information. The Valley Trail is right out front of Glaciers Reach, parallel to Lorimer Road. In the winter, this trail is paved and is regularly plowed and de-iced.
If you walk west on the Valley Trail (towards the Sea-to-Sky Highway) you can cross the highway and reach Alta Lake (35 minutes one-way), Rainbow Park (40 minutes one-way), Meadow Park Recreation Center (45 minutes one-way) or Creekside Village (60 minutes one-way). The Valley Trail will take you past the golf course and many residential neighborhoods including Blueberry Hill. There are public washrooms at all four of these destinations. The Valley Trail has many signs and maps along the way.
If you walk east from Glaciers Reach (away from the Sea-to-Sky Highway), you can reach Lost Lake Park in about 30 minutes. Around Lost Lake there are many more well-marked trails that allow you to safely enjoy pristine nature and stunning vistas. During winter, these trails have compacted snow so wear footwear with good tread. These trails have fewer people on them so be careful in the dark or in inclement weather and carry your cellphone.
